PETROSINO counts 7619 inhabitants of which 3779 males and 3840 females and extends along the Mediterranean coast halfway between the old and Marsala Mazara del Vallo. The territory is located on an area of 4500 km, which goes from sea to an altitude of 12 meters above sea level. Is 45 Km from the capital of the province and borders with Marsala, Mazara del Vallo and the Mediterranean Sea. From a geological point of view is the interior, some parts of the territory have been subject to remediation, even if they are still 3 remaining wetlands called "Margi": "Margi Spanò" where we find a plant breeding of fish, "Margi Canino "near the beach Torrazza; and" Margie Milo "reclaimed 30 years after the construction of a system of closed channels that collect water and bring into the sea.
