Agricultural activity is the most important sector of the economy of the City of Petrosino. In fact, most of the inhabitants of our town is devoted to agriculture in general and viticulture in particular. Agricultural production is derived from vegetables, fruit, olives and grain. Over the past ten years has developed the work in the greenhouses where flowers are grown, strawberries, mushrooms, tomatoes and green beans. L 'sheep and goats is modest because most of the land is cultivated. Fishing supplies only the internal market, in fact the fishermen who work in this area are not numerous. Few owners of Petrosino fishing in the Mediterranean at a great distance from our coast. Fewer units are working in other sectors, remained a few artisans (masons, carpenters, masons and some blacksmith) and few traders running for the various Chiani. Outstanding are the workings of the tuff, wicker, embroidery art and ceramics.
